Having a couple of Baofeng UV-5R radios for many years now, I'd heard that the UV-5R Mini was a great little unit so I thought I "might" like it, and that's why I bought one. You know what..!! I actually love it. It is so easy to program manually and so straight forward by design and software operation, that you don't even have to read the manual to get this radio up and running. I replaced the stubby little antenna with a larger one and that really brought it to life. Just lately, I have bought a DM32-UV, a UV-5RH Pro and a UV-5R Mini, and in my opinion the Mini is the real surprise of the bunch, because of its simplicity of programming and use.
