Refund policy

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Warranties
We honour the NZ Consumer’s Guarantees Act and any relevant NZ consumer rights legislation.

All items (unless otherwise stated) come with a 12 month RTB (return to base) warranty covering parts and workmanship. Depending on the fault, we will either repair or replace at our discretion.  As usual, damage caused by wear and tear, accidental damage, liquid, dropping, dismantling or modifying in any way (hardware or software) isn't covered.  In addition, removal of any label, tampering, or any unauthorized use also voids the warranty.
Disassembly, attempting to repair, modifying hardware, installing non-factory non-official or beta firmware releases or any other unauthorised software hacks may damage your radio or render it inoperable. Any of these will immediately void the manufacturer warranty. Customers who attempt to modify, hack, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to alter any part or device from its original specifications with the use of hardware modifications or software hacks do so at their own risk.

The purchaser is responsible for the cost of sending the item(s) to our Christchurch address.  We will return the repaired or replaced item(s) at our cost. 


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal  goods (such as earpieces).  Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Exchanges
Should you wish to upgrade your purchased item(s) to a higher value item (eg replace a 2 watt radio with a 5 watt model), please contact us to discuss options available.  We can only do this within 7 days of your original purchase and the return of the original item(s) must meet all return conditions.

To be eligible for a return, your item(s) must be in the same condition that you received it (them), unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at craigsullivan.nz@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

The actual freight charges for sending the original order may not be refunded as these are costs we directly incur.

Refunds
Any items returned must be in brand new, undamaged condition with all accessories, unmarked and without any labels removed.  They must be in A-Grade resaleable condition and received by us within 7 days from the day we advise in writing that the item(s) can be returned to us for a refund. 

We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of up to 10% and any additional costs for any missing or damaged items or damaged product packaging.  In addition, labour costs to return the item(s) to A-grade resaleable condition may apply.  We will advise you of these costs, which will come out of the refund amount.

The actual freight charges for sending the original order will not be refunded as these are costs we directly incur.  We will advise you of this cost and deduct this from the refund paid.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.  

If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Change of Mind

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept change of mind returns for exchange, refund or Gift Card:

  • That were purchased more than 7 days ago;
  • That are not in their original unopened condition and packaging; or
  • Without proof of purchase;
  • Product must be returned to Techoman Electronics;
  • We will offer (at Techoman Electronic Ltd's sole discretion) either an exchange, Gift Card, or refund.

We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of a minimum of 10% for product testing and any additional costs repackaging to as-new condition or for any missing or damaged items or damaged product packaging.  In addition, labour costs to return the item(s) to A-grade resaleable condition may apply.  We will advise you of these costs, which will come out of the refund, exchange or Gift Card amount.

If applicable, it will be the purchasers responsibility for shipping and any other costs associated with returning the product to Techoman Electronics Ltd.
