It is capable of withstanding high VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) conditions due to its emitter ballasting. The part has been declared obsolete by its original manufacturer, STMicroelectronics, and is now primarily available as "New Old Stock" (NOS) or as compatible replacements. The "RM" designation indicates a version produced by RM Italy
